Opening lecture Out of Asia: 2000 years of textiles

Opening lecture and guided tour by Dr. Gillian Vogelsang-Eastwood, director of the TRC, for the exhibition Out of Asia: 2000 years of textiles. The lecture and tour will be concluded with a welcoming drink and small buffet, from about 16.00. Location: TRC, Hogewoerd 164.

Out of Asia is a pop-up exhibition that looks at the movement of textile techniques and designs, as well as garment ideas from Asia (notably China, India, Indonesia and Japan) over a period of nearly two thousand years and how these and similar items have influenced Western textiles and garments. The exhibition and related talk is based on a range of objects from the TRC Collection.
