Warp: hand-spun cotton - white and reddish brown. Weft: hand-spun white cotton Square shaped bag with straight-edged opening. Sides sewn together with whipping stitch ; upper rim hemmed. Warp-face plain weave ; structural pattern by means of warp stripes. Pattern unit: two wide brown stripes, followed by two brown pin stripes all set on white ground (together ca. 1.5 cm wide), repeated alternately across width of bag. Strap: warp-face plain weave, warp-striped pattern (wide brown stripe in center bordered by narrow brown ones) - thicker yarns used. Reddish brown yarns dyed with tree bark (?) Made by Doña Constancia (donated by Mr. Lemley). Provenience: San Miguel Totolapan, Guerrero, between Arcelia and Ajuchitlan (Rio Balsas region).
