674-7 Moccasins; mokwáwé (TK); hide, sinew, pigment, silver; l. 26 cm., h. 11.5 cm.; ca. 1880. The soles of this pair are made from rawhide. The moccasins have two separate uppers, the frontal upper of which is stained bright red, probably with hematite instead of mountain mahogany. The moccasins are fastened with a silver button. Ten Kate noted that this pair was worn by a woman.
