The Joy of Collecting is a manifestation by Stichting Sieraden Collecties and Current Obsession, filled with interesting talks, Design Date rounds and Social Club sessions. During this afternoon we will look at the subject of collecting from a multidisciplinary point of view, while being surrounded by two exhibitions on collecting.
The day programme will begin at 13:00, with talks by art historian Liesbeth Den Besten, philosopher Cees Leijenhorst, visual artist and collector Pet Van de Luijtgaarden, curator Judith Torzillo, and assistant project manager at Modemuze, digital presentations curator, Lisa Whittle.
The key speakers’ presentations will be punctuated by two rounds of DESIGN DATE, a live adaptation of a romantic TV programme, placed in a professional context; an entertaining format that shows how charming and being charmed can be an active part of our careers. DESIGN DATE is authored and moderated by Matylda Krzykowski.
The final stage of the manifestation is four editions of the Social Club – series of informal and dynamic conversations – dedicated to collecting and presenting jewellery.
After, its time for drinks, tunes and some good time, and if we leave you craving for more, an optional dinner will be served!
Organised by Stichting Sieraden Collecties and Current Obsession, this project is supported by the AFK (Amsterdam Fund for the Arts) and Stimuleringsfonds Creatieve Industrie.
